Galicia is one of the largest producers of cultivated mussels int he world. These mussels are grown on the more than 3,000 floating rafts or Bateas in Spanish. This company offers boat tours that include mussel tastings.

This is the old town which is also located downtown. All this area is pedestrian. You can find the main church of Vigo (La Colegiata) and lots of restaurants to enjoy local gastronomy.  If you want to buy some nice souvenirs of Vigo, don't miss the Vaidhé Store

Las Islas Cíes National Park (The Cíes Islands) is an archipelago at the mouth of the Ria de Vigo. It is possible to visit and even camp there, but unfortunately the authorizations for visits are sold out already the week of the wedding.

If you have a few more days in Vigo, you can take a taxi or a bus and discover Samil, the most famous local beach in Vigo. Next to Samil there are other small beaches like La Fuente or Los Olmos

Go for a walk on the most popular pedestrian street in Vigo. If you want to do some shopping this is the perfect place.

This is the main park of downtown Vigo. From here you can enjoy the best views of Vigo bay. The anchors above were salvaged from the Ria and date to the battle of Rande in 1702.
